Artmania 2013

First short update.
Birthday in sighisoara last month was sooo awesome! Escaping bukarest's freaking hot weather from mid july was a bless! Of course in sighisoara it wasn't quite snowing but it was better:)). Plus sighi is a beautiful medieval city where it's hard for me to get bored.
What I didn't get to do is go to rock the city fest. Oh well.
Oh and tyr/finntroll in brasov got canceled. Which sucks but i'll get my money back so i'll use it to buy tyr merch in bukarest. :))

anyway

Ahhh yes artmania

So let's take them easy.

deine lakaien
discovered them when artmania announced them. And gave them a try. And I decided to go to sibiu from thrusday so I can see them, too.
I got to sibiu, aand I ran into them in the large square so I took a pic with them . yey me.
But then I discovered that I had to book a seat for their concert. And I got pissed.

I wasn't the only one who didn't know. And the next day i've heard yet another bunch of people who didn't know. I came from thursday too see them. Couldn't artmania just be like “first ones to get there are the first to get in.” till the seats were all taken? Jfc. Idgits.
So instead of seeing them I met up with a mate and her friends and hanged with them for a while:)). i was told one of them will soon move to sweden so me my mate and her started talking about sweden and finland and compare the 2 and their languages etc and then ended up talking history and stuff. it was fun.

The next day I went to the zoo. And among other pwetty animals they have this Gorgeous white wolf who was just chilling in the shadows uphill, making it impossible for me to take a proper pic of him. Next time, gadget! Next time!

Then I checked facebook. To see that artmania came up with yet another brilliant idea. In the past years there were meet and greets with the fest bands during the day and anyone could go. Which was cool. But this year someone came with a really smart idea. There were only 10 meet &greet thingies/band and ONLY if you'd answer correctly to a question related to the band. Isn t that brilliant? I mean I am pretty sure people came to sibiu to stay online. It's not like you can run into the band members randomly on the street or anything. Or wait backstage after their show and hope they'll come for pics. usually the people from the bands that are brought at this fest do so.
not to mention they had incredible hours for the meet and greet. for example the orphaned land one took place between 21:40-22:00. if you were 1st row at them, won the meet and greet and wanted to keep your place in the 1st row at lacrimosa as well, well fuck you!

Aaanyway. Meanwhile I was summoned so I met up with andra and the rest and shared the magnificent news. And we were all on the same page: wtf artmania. Then we parted ways cause they wanted to see a movie that I didn't wanna see. Which in a way it was a smart choice cause I got 1st row at amaranthe, but I was dying of heat and didn't leave my place to go buy a drink. So I am just glad I didn't pass out during their show :)). I really liked the show.
i 1st discovered amaranthe not long before i was supposed to see them opening fr hammerfall 2 years ago but there have been some money misunderstandings probably their bus broke down in hungary or smth soo i am glad i got to see them now.
after their show i went backstage hoping that they'll come for a while. and we were a bunch of people there and the guards told us they'll come. meanwhile haggard began their gig so part of the people left. in the end they did come and i did get to take a pic with them.

i didn't go back to the front of the stage so that i'll keep andra a place for meeting haggard. but from what i heard from the back they were as good as they were last time i saw them. and they sang awaking the centuries! <3>
aaaand haggard finished their part and andra came and so the waiting began. after a while we were announced that the meet and greet will take place in the small square. after some more waiting there, since it was close to within temptation starting, we decided to quit it and go see the gig. wt was my main reason for artmania this year. there was no way i was gonna miss them. plus i've met haggard 2 years ago in bistrita. so it's all good. they're really nice people!

within temptation. well then.
i don't know what exactly to say.
what's not to like? i like their sound, her voice is amazing, i like the way she dresses, the way she sings, everything. at some point i got up to the 5th row..ish.. so even if the pics i took are mostly shitty quality, i could see quite well. and i liked the dress she wore that night. well ok maybe a bit too shiny but it was nice :)).

after all was over we ended up in valhalla [bar..club...thingie]. which was a trap. there were no vikings there. what kind of valhalla is that with no vikings? but the music was good and the vikings-related decorations were quite nice.

day 2.
also known as the day i fell in love with lacrimosa.
that day i visited yet again the clock tower. and they had a 3d photos expo which was quite interesting. plus inside the tower it was better than outside so it was a pleasure to just chill there.
xandria was ... ok. the singer has really nice eyes which looked awesome in contrast with the black hair.
then orphaned land... i tried. i stayed for a few songs and then just went to wander around to some parts of the city where i haven't been before. it was nice. it was getting dark so this gave the city a lovely light. [but then again, i didn't got into other bands (such as turisas) from the 1st time either.]

i was back right before orphaned land sang their last song. andra and the guys made it to the 2nd row soo i joined them. we were all there for lacrimosa [from what i know anyway].

in that half an hour break a storm was giving signs of joining us.
thunderbolt and lightning not that very frighting. thor was probably like "imma give dem bitches thunder. bitches love thunder". and he was right cause at every thunder the crowd would go apeshit. but then the rain began. heavier and heavier. and some left. some went topless.
aaaand lacrimosa came on stage and i really really liked their show. the atmospphere was awesome! tilo has an amaizing voice!!! [anne does too, but there's something about tilo's...] and to all that add the rain which i loved and it ends up being an awesome night!

oh and good thing about [somewhat] speaking [or at least understanding] the language in which the band onstage sings, in this case being german, is that when a creep asks you [for example]: tanz mit mir? you just say "neeeeeeeeeeein". could come in handy.
i took some pics, most of which ended up being ... acceptable. and i also filmed 3 songs.. soo i will just have to thank my phone for not giving up on me on such a rainy day. but then again it's nokia so it's not that much of a big surprise:D :)). close to the end a girl made room for me by her side so i can take as good of a pic of their bow as i could [and a few before that pic]. so sweet of her.
anyway as i was saying. fell in love with lacrimosa that night.
but
buuut
the rain as much as it was welcomed it was also a pain in the ass. it would've been all ok if it would've rained as it did at the beginning. but noo. at some point it gave me the idea the rain will soon stop. only to start over even worse. which in the end made me not stay for the meet and greet. but oh well. next time!
i already know one person who'll join.
this is me during the heavy rain, after lacrimosa, on my way to my room:

not my vid but still.

and while writing this lines, at certain parts, i can hear a voice from afar whispering "copy cats" :)))).

Brâncoveanu Palace

yes
soo. as i said in my last post, i was to visit brâncoveanu palace [also known as mogoșoaia palace]. aand i did, actually. yesterday. it wasn't the 1st time i visited it, but this time i was alone so i got to actually spend as much time as i wanted wherever i chose.
unfortunately i forgot my camera's memory card in my laptop [yes. sometimes i am THAT smart :))] so all the pics i took were made by phone. i will post some pics here :).
a bit of history. the palace was built between 1698-1702 by constantin brâncoveanu in what is called the romanian renaissance style [better known here as the brâncovenesc style].
the last owners of the palace were the bibescu family.  in the palace's yard you can find the stone chappel where most of them are burried ( antoine bibesco and  marthe bibescu couldn't be burried there becuse they died during the communist area.)
more info about the palace and its last owners here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mogo%C5%9Foaia_Palace
http://palatebrancovenesti.ro/en/2011/07/25/presentation/
or just google it !

now part 2
 Constantin Brâncoveanu
was the voivod of wallachia between1654 and 1714. during his time this land met an era of prosperity. at first he was suppoerted by his uncle, constantin cantacuzino, but they ended up facing eachother. cantacuzino was exiled and started advocating his son's Ştefan's candidacy to the throne, while competing with Brâncoveanu for the support of the ottoman empire - wallachia's overlord at the time.
meanwhile brâncoveanu took steps in negotiating anti-ottoman alliances first with the habsburg monarchy, and then with peter the great's russia. unfortunately, brâncoveanu made some mistakes and it all went downhill. long story short, his bad moves and the fact that his throne was wanted [when did that not happen, in general?] and therefore the plots made against him[such as, the sultan was told that brâncoveanu had saved large amounts of fortune and hid them] ended up with him being brought to constantinopole in 1714, with his 4 sons, imprisoned at the fortress of the 7 towers and tortured, the sultan hoping to find out where the believed fortunes were located.
how did they die? you may ask. well. not by torture.
here
let me explain.
basically. heads chopped off.  the sultan ordered for the bodies to be thrown in the bosphorus. his wife, with the help of the orthodox comunity in constantinopolis [if i remember correctly], fished the bodies from the water and burried them at a monastery nearby. [nowadays his body is in a church found in the center of bukarest, church also built by him].http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constantin_Brancoveanu
or, you know, google him.

ok. have i bored you enough yet?
good.
now time for pics :))
i wasn't allowed to take pics inside, which sucks. especially since i love the chancery chamber and they still don't have any postcards [or anything for that matter] of it.
soo. this is the main gate. right at its left is a church built by him.
and now the palace

[from what i remember from what i've learned, that outside gazebo balcony thingy is smth characteristic for the brancovenesc style]
view of the balcony from the inside:

back to the palace now

view of the palace from that main gate's tower thingy:

this is a pic of the inside that i took from the balcony:
right on the left is the chancery chamber!
i did take 2 pics on the inside. couldn't help. i love spiral stairs

yeah i have to wash the bastards
and at the bottom of the stairs i took a pic of the view. imagine having this view every morning [especially since i am pretty sure 300 years ago there were trees there, not houses. which makes it even better]
and now. pics of other properties of the palace.
view from the balcony. that s the main gate. [obviously] and over the wall you can see the church.
view from the gate's tower.

another one

this is under the palace, under the balcony:
what it hosts depends. now there were religious paintings, for example.
and a statuary group representing minerva [the same thing can be seen on top of the targoviste gate. picture later on]
and noow. doors and gates. :))
entrance to what you just saw:
 main entrance to the palace

 see:D. mineeerva

aand last but not least, the bibescu chappel

and i remembered from my last visit that the crypt is closed. so imagine my suprise when i tried the gate and i actualy could open it [and it made that awesome semi-creepy sound of rusty gate movement...thingy] [yeah. could swear it's not rusty :))]
but my dream of visiting it was soon to be over, as i reached the actual door and saw this
i obviously saw that before, but didn't remember. oh well. still would be so awesome to see the inside of the crypt.
 anyway.
it has stairs on both sides and you can get on top of the cript where you can find 3 tomb stones

and in the front of the crypt, on the left of the entrance, there's this thing
basically, it talks about george bibescu's life and all the good things he did.
but i really like the what's above the book.
really. really. like that.
i actually wanted to visit the palace again today and try to take a pic of the chancery chamber [well. there's a part of it i especially find absolutely awesome. you'll just have to wait!] but it was closed. today it's easter here. so almost everything is closed. but they would've made a looot of money if they would've had it open. the park [the palace has a lot of land around it, also belonging to it] was full of people and someone asked me about getting to the palace. they were there to visit it. too bad..

now i ll just have to check their opening hours and mybe i ll go back there this week for that pic i oh so much want.
hopefully i will manage to actually take it. hah.
 ok now, bye bye then.

p.s. guess who booked the room in sighisoara [medieval city in transylvania. also known for the fact that vlad tepes was born there. now that house is a restaurant with really good food!]
here
take a look
http://www.360tourist.net/view-tour/2883/360wa507d2e82eb41d
and the i'll be staying right in the heart of it, 1 minute away from the clock tower!

Update

haaaaa

hallo, peopleee!

Hyvää Vappua kaikille!

haha
haven't written here in sooo long.
no idea why. but meh.
sooo. yess
[Basically bragging due to a hyper mood and some good news that i found out lately. feel free not to read.]

what happened.
nothing interesting from August to December... and not much now either.
but.
i did see Helloween again in March. and it was pretty awesome. and they had Gamma Ray as opening band. which adds to the awesomenes [not to mention that i got 2 picks from Gamma Ray yey me:D:))] and Shadowside. which, as instrumental, weren't bad. but I couldn't understand a word the chick was singing. aand i got myself one of their tshirts.
glad i got to see Helloween again, this time WITHOUT a massive headache like the one i had at ArtMania [which made me remember close to nothing from that night. i know they sang i want out. and i left right after they were done and before Tarja got on stage. had seen her already so it wasn't much of a miss.]
anyway
this show was pretty awesome. and i got the best place in the venue. and they sang If I Could Fly. so that made me the happiest soul there :)).
i should've written about the gig right after.. while i was still all excited and stuff. oh well.next time!
speaking of gigs. these past 2 weeks have been awesome gigs-wise. first, CoB confirmed a show here. in November.
then maximum rock festival announced the 1st band for the fest. and it was The 69 Eyes. and i went .. well.. basically... apeshit. i finally. get. to. see. them.
GOOD.
but as this wasn't enough, not long after, they announced the 2nd band to sing. and it's My Dying Bride.
not like The 69 Eyes convinced me already of going. sweet mother nature.
i saw MDB last year at ArtMania.. but really don't mind seeing them again. really. i don't haha.
moreover, i might get to also see Megadeth and Iron Maiden for free. Megadeth as a b-day present, Maiden, well, hopefully with the same technique i used at AC/DC and Bon Jovi.
uhuh yes and also Haggard and Withing Temptation at ArtMania. still waiting for the headliner for the 2nd day, since so far nothing interests me then. hopefully they will surprise us with some Nightwish. yes. that would be nice. Floor is awesome.
In mid July, if stuff go as i want, I'll also be going to Sighisoara [BEAUTIFUL medieval city in Transylvania, also known for the fact that Vlad Tepes was born there. it's such a peaceful place!]. MAYBE now the torture chambers are open for visiting.
and to the mountains. <3 aaaah="" days="" frabjous="" p="">[damn so much bragging wtf. see. this is what happens when my tumblr post limit is reached and i am up to date with all tv shows. haha]
oh
i would like to apologize for our Eurovision contestant. i only heard a bit of his song. but. just. no.

oh
oh
oh

something DID happen last year.

on Christmas eve i got myself a great present.
GREAT present
haha
let's just say that
i will be seeing this beautiful place sooner that i expected last July.

and i will be staying longer than i did in July, and this time in Helsinki. SO MUCH VISITING. AND WONDERING AROUND. AND PHOTOS. AAHHHH YEEES!

haha
yeah.
maybe i am a bit excited.
ah and also, i will be meeting a mate from Malta and will be the annoying tour guide for her. which will be interesting. and fun. and i will see her more excited than i will be since i've been there before. haha. one more happy human.
i am really hoping for shitload of snow and for at least a gig...
Harmaja. yes. i would like that. but any Finn band that i listen to works.
and i will update the Finland blog after my trip. no reason to do that now.

on Sunday i will be visiting Brancoveanu's palace from Mogosoaia. i think i will put some pics here then. if not here, then they will be for sure on Deviant anyway. i hope it will be sunny. everything is green and nice already, so yeah..

[you just killed some precious minutes of your life reading this. :)))]

ok now.

bye bye then

p.s. by the time i posted this, 1st of May was over. haha

oh and since i mentioned them and i had this song on repeat today, here.
enjoy

[not a fan of the video since i have no idea what chicks in corsets dusting the furniture and the floor have to do with the lyrics, but i like the song. so yes.]

CoB. part 2.

A lot of fangirling ahead. you've been warned. i regret Nothing!
the only time i am fully mature at a show is when i talk to band members :).

but first.. short summary of the summer.
kick ass!
started with a wonderful weekend alone in my fave city at the mountains, then i finally managed to lay to rest the 15 years old - i wanna go to lake bodom and stay in espoo no matter how long i will be staying in finland- part of me. 6 years later but who's counting? haha [more details here]

i also saw europe, wasp, megadeth, motorhead and gnr[again] for free, then i went to sibiu [woonderful city] saw my dying bride and got the chance to take a pic with them, and now, peninsula.

1st of all I AM ALIVE!!! WOO HOOO!!!
one thing you have to know about me. i HATE hungarians. [most of them.the majority of them. some can be really nice people.]. pure. fucking. hatred. historical and political reasons. and in targu mures there are MANY hungarians. it was a challenge to try and keep my mouth shut in order not to get my ass kicked. but in the end i did. di was and is very proud of me. haaa!

i went there with a buddy from uni, diana, and since there is just one train/day from bucharest to tg mures, we got there on saturday. we decided not to sleep in the train station since we had a tent, so,because we just had tickets just for the cob day, we just bought 2 for saturday, also. when we went to get the bracelts for sunday, the chick who was to give them to us looked and me and gave me the most hear breaking news. she said "you know that atb got cancelled, right?". my heart got torn appart. my entire life collapsed around me. life had no meaning anymore. no but really. i was wearing a black turisas tshirt. i was dressed more methuul than di, still, i aparetly had an atb face. i just looked at di and she said "no it's ok. we're not here for them". got the bracelets and sterted to make fun of the news till the camping site, and sometimes yesterday and today. and will continue to do so till we get bored.

aanywway.
first night was ok.. nothing special.
the next day[aka yesterday, sunday] i woke up at like 7:20,,but that's normal for me :)). so i just wondered around a bit then took my book and chilled by the bungee jumping fence [i got a history book on friday from the library just to have smth to read on the way to/from there.it's about sweden and the baltic sea region between the XVI and the XVIII century. i like the way it's organised. plus it's something i will be studying in turku, as well :). aaanyway].
at noon ish cob had the sound check. soo i went to the fence. and waved at jaska..who waved baack. yeey :) [and so. the fangirling begins]. knowing what happened last year to someone i know, regarding petri, it was a nice surprise.:)
not to mention good drum players will always have my respect, since i had to play drums in highschool and ended up going full[y] retarded  in an attempt to play what my teacher wanted. it was fun. :)). it was then when i realised that i'm not made for drums:)).
back on topic.
what killed me more than the beginning of shovel knockout usually does, was the part of the sound check when they had bass and keyboards. simultaneously. it. was. fdnef.nfreg!. [ooh i am soo seeing the father of all evil aka flea on friday. although my ticket is placed i the venue somewhat close to the gates of manala,i will be able to stare at that bass. finally.
(and since elaine said she'll be buying herself a bass,in turku i'll finally have the chance to play it. i'm stuck on buying myself keyboards and ineke can actually play drums, not even sorry for the future neighbours:)) )]

blah blah rest of the day was ok.. hot as freaking hell.. till like 5 minutes after i talked with di about how it would be nice to rain for a change and i was bitching about how i want back on suomenlinna..
but when i saw it's starting to get cloudy i realised that rain on that day,,,, BAD idea. me no wants show to get cancelled.
blah again nothing.. trooper started. i was at the left part of the stage [seen from the public]
i like trooper. it was nice seeing them again. it started to rain at about 8 and i was freaking out. according to di, more than i realised. all i know is that i was like "i am gonna be pissed as fuck if cob gets cancelled.".. and already being pissed since they seemed to cover everything against the rain BUT janne's keys. they eventually got covered, too. good.
the 2nd band was a hungarian one. during their show, ahm, i believe  a rock had more emotions than my face had. longest hour and a half of the day.
then the waiting began. and i mostly stared at the holyday @lake bodom banner..and discussing how kickass that would be as a tattoo.. as well as the "the reaper always wins" in civitype. :)).
the show was really awesome, at least from my point of view and i believe there were more people than last year. kickass. not to mention that this time i was right in front of the drums, unlike last year when i could barely see them.
anyway.
speaking of people. how can you tell if the guy next to you is hungarian? simple. take my example. ask him to hold the finn flag with the romanian one underneath, and h will make so that the romanian one won't be seenable.  ask him to pass the romanian one to the left so that both are fully seenable and he will let go of them both.
OH BURN.

anyway. i love the way they sing shovel knockout live. it gave me time to switch to video and film it. with many henkka scenes. bass. [oh and for the love of gods.to get this straight. do i find him good looking ? well, d;oh. but then again, who in cob isn't so? like. really now. for their age, compared (or not) to what you see here, they look great. it must be something in the finn water. but for the love of music, the looks are a bonus. like. yeah. i am buying their cds to look at their eyes. fuck logic. if looks would be the criteria i'd have for the music i listen to, bands like korpiklaani shouldn't be part of my playlist. last time i checked it wasn't a crime to consider someone good looking (wrote smth on this subject on the finland blog.grow up.).it's called being human :). this reminds me. guy from vantaa airport. Yum.  ]
all in all great playlist, great atmosphere, great guys.
theen the end came. and i really wanted at least henkka's or roope's pic, so i focused on that. one of henkka's fell close from where i was standing, but far enough to not be able to take it, funnier, a roope one was not far from henkka's.
needles to say the guards were hungarian. one of them bothered to pick roope's and gave it to someone close to me. some minutes later another one bothered to have his existence interrupted by some unworthy mortals, got the pick and went to the other part of the crowd to give it to someone.
i. became. so. pissed. off. i can't even. moreover, i had 50 euro worth of money for band merch. went to the merch stand. and. yeey. no cob merch. whoop de fucking doo :)). the night was getting better and better. so i took di and off to the backstage area, MAAYBE the guys would come to talk to us for 5 min.
the usually calm me was pretty much changed and by the time i got there i was cursing more than a sailor, all my "love" being aimed at the guard and gods know the romanian language can be quite... colourful [colourful enough that a guy beside me said he hopes never to piss off someone like me. it was funny:))].
some chick with a press pass or smth like that told us the guys are so not gonna come cause they don't look in the mood and didn't stayed after the conference either.
none of us moved. bahahhaha. i didn't have anything better to do, i wasn't tired and nothing could've gotten worse.
then some hungarian came and talked with another hungarian chick. di asked her in romanian what did he say and she was like "you don't know hungarian?"..she was soo was indignant. it was then that we found out she couldn't speak romanian.
Burn.

in the end janne henkka and alexi came. yey us! i was inspired that day to get my marker with me soo autographs on flag it is! first one was janne's then henkka's and alexi's..i also asked henkka for a pick but apparently he didn't have any more. daamn.

later jaska came so i got his autograph, too. unfortunately roope didn't came.
neext time, gadget :)).
the guys were awesome for coming, it's nice to see big bands being still fan-friendly even after many years, unlike some others either bigger or not even 1/4 as big as cob who start to get ruled by fame and money and forget where they started from. [for example trooper. slowly but steadily they change. which sucks.]

music makes me happy. going to shows makes me happy.i'm glad that i am able to go to a show from time to time. i have a lot of catching up to do. which reminds me. i should've talked to my boss today to tell him if i am going to work tomorrow or not. my phone was [and still is] dead. he's so gonna kill me :)).
oh well.

oh my. almost forgot.
about the conference.
i know one of the guys who attended it. he had a press pass from metalhead. ro
aand this is what i have to say [note: it was written on tumblr before i left for the fest]

i talked to the guy. i know what he’s gonna ask..
FOR THE SAKE OF THE GODS! OF THE BAND! OF MUSIC!! OF JOURNALISM!!
the same old clicheic shit they are asked at nearly every bloody fucking interview.
like REALLY??
DUDE HAVE SOME IMAGINATION AND THINK OUT OF THE FUCKING BOX!!!

i tried to make him at leaast let go of some CAPTAIN FUCKING OBVIOUS questions.. but can you argue with a 15-16 year old fucktard? NOOO… “i think it’s ok. i know better. it’s the standard interview. plus the guys at metalhead.ro said it’s ok”. gee. good to know you accept suggestions.
plus the guys at metalhead.ro suck MASSIVE dick. you pretty much must be an ass kisser cock sucker bastard to be able to fit in. plus, if you don;t listen to what they listen to or don’t agree with the big bosses, you are non-existent there.

i feel like apologising to the band before the press conference for what they will have to go through…
it’s not jealousy of some sort “oh my, he’s gonna be at the conference, why haven’t i got press pass”… yeah. whateever. i could’ve had. i was invited by a different website a while ago[who read what i wrote about another show i’ve attended]  to do reviews of the shows i attend, for them, but i said no, because it would require a certain dedication that i am not willing to give. so yeah. i could’ve had a press pass. it’s not about the jealousy, it’s about the fact that if you actually have it and get a chance of getting an interview, in my mind it would be better to surprise them with out of the box questions, not the “who’s/who are the main composer[s] in the band” Perkele!

it's not even about the age. you could be 18 and be very mature or be 30 and be worse than this guy. plus i remember when i was his age. i know how i was and i wasn't as bad as him. for fuck's sake.

he just asked 6 out of the 16 questions. still. argh. yes
oh well.

enough for tonight.
rhcp on friday. see you afterwards. bahaha
:)
[the amount of excitement i have when it comes to seeing live the band that got me where i am today is..well..unimaginable.]

update:
the guy with the pass recognised me in the crowd and after the conference bitched about how he wasn't able to talk more to the guys and invite janne for a beer and shit bcs of the manager... and how he knew that it would be worthless to wait for them after the show..
well well. this is what happens when you try to annoy people with your attitude and shit. apparently, in the end, "i make my own luck" worked better than ass kissing a website :). pam pam.

2nd. i found out who the opening bands will be for rhcp. there waas a contest and some unknown bands won. which is intriguing, since i know they didn't have the majority of votes. oh well. i'm going directly before rhcp start.

3rd
after i posted this last night some..one.. asked me to name 3 bass players that i like but whom i don't find good looking.
haha
challenge accepted. let's say 5:
1)father of all evil. Flea. not now, not in the early days. still. he got me hooked. i must be lying, right?
2)Boro [from iris,(my fave) romanian band.]
3)Mirel Cumpanas (cargo. romanian band)
4)sami [ensiferum. gods know how much i stared at the bass last year :))]
5)Teemu Hautamäki -charon.

and the list can continue. so. dear whoever, go fuck a goat or smth.:)

oh aand since i mentioned iris, the band announced that cristi, the lead singer, will be leaving the band on the 3rd. Fuck. :). not too impressed about who the new lead singer will be, but still, we'll wait and see.

2011

I'm bored! haha:))
What a year... One of my dreams came true in April by seeing CoB live and also i got the chance to see live other bands such as Scorpions, Helloween, Hammerfall, Ensiferum and of course Sonata Arctica. Awesome year from this point of view! I met new people... some of them turned out to be quite ok :).
The only thing I am very sorry for is losing the close friendship with one of my best friends.. that is the one thing i would change in my life if possible.
Anyway. I also became closer to other friends of mine and lost touch to some. Whatever.
One thing i am very proud of is being one step closer to fulfilling another dream of mine: going to Finland on holiday. this being said, i can't wait for my birthday this year <3! it's gonna be awesome!
I've decided not to let anyone anymore get between me and my dream(s), I was about to do that because of my ex, but hey. he's an ex now. :)).
what else? ahm..i despise people more now, but still i was a bit more sociable lately...sort of.
I also have decided to get at least one more tattoo.. but have to decide what to get.. something in Finnish most likely, on my spine.
I hope 2012 will be better than 2011...and i REALLY hope Turisas and/or Tarot will come to artmania!
what else? the new year's eve party turned out to be quite nice. probably the best i ever had. so far.
now i am waiting for the exams to pass so i can go visit some friends on the other part of the country. :D

that's all for now.
comments still won't work.

survive a new year :)

Hammerfall

Fur meine liebe :)

On Wednesday, Nov.30th i went to see Hammerfall :D. The whole thing started a while ago in the summer when i've heard that they will come at Artmania Festival. Which would've been cool because i was to attend it anyway and last year me and a -at the time- friend of mine were talking how nice a Sonata Arctica & Hammerfall gig would be. But things happened and they didn't come. On the other hand they went to Peninsula, another Romanian festival, which I couldn't attend. Anyway it was also announced that they will come to Bucharest in autumn...sooo i hoped to see them here, but because I have to save money I was almost sure i won't. Things changed  about 3 weeks before the gig when I had the [splendid] idea to ask my folks for money because, in the end, the gig was in the same day as my name day, so they could make this their gift. Luckily, they agreed and I bought the ticket. Then, the real waiting began.

Until the very end I [and probably all the other people who attended] hoped that the location would be changed [Hard Rock Cafe is really not the best place for a Hammerfall gig], but it didn't. Also, apparently the bus of the opening bands broke in Hungary, so they couldn't attend. That's a pity because I would've liked to see Amaranthe. As replacements they brought 2 Romanian bands. I was in front row to both of them, not because I was interested in seeing them, but because I wanted to save that spot in order to be 1st row at Hammerfall. Wise decision. The Romanian bands were Blind Spirits and LOST. meh.

At about 22:30 Hammerfall finnaly came on stage and the real show started.
They were Awesome! Joacim is a great singer and knew how to communicate with the audience. But so did Oscar, Pontus and Fredrik, who between riffs took the time [so to speak] to smile and make eye contact with the fans from the first rows. The playlist was good with both old songs like "Any Means Necessary", "Last Man Standing", "Let the Hammer Fall" [on which the voice of the audience was really loud] "Always Will Be" [which remains a dear song of mine being the 1st one i've heard from them and the song that got me hooked to Hammerfall (thanks, VH1 Rocks)] and new ones like "One More Time" and "Let's Get It On".

I didn;t know that they will come to chat with the fans after the show, so I left. Apparently they did and I am sorry I missed that. Oh well.

I am glad that finally somebody brought this band in Bucharest and I hope they will come again. Next time I will buy a VIP ticket just to be sure. On the other hand I can't say I left empty handed I have all 3 guitar picks [Oscar's, Fredrik's and Pontus' -Thanks wifey for giving me the 3rd one :D] and bought a Hammerfall tshirt.

It was a really good way to spend that night and I am glad i got the chance to see them.  <3

Sonata Arctica...Artmania...Sibiu :)

this is for Lilith and Del :)
sooo let's start with my reason there: day 2->Sonata. the funny thing is i wasn't planing on going to Artmania this year, i was supposed to go to another city buutt when i heard about them coming my plans suddenly changed :)) and i told the 2 girls i was gonna meet anyway that i won't miss Sonata for anything or anyone. luckily Andreea and Dia had the same thoughts :)). anyway i also let them know that i was gonna stay in the large square[where the show was to take place] since noon no matter if any of them will join me or not... and so i did. but this didn't stop me from missing the signing session that took place also in the large square but in another part of it and of which i wasn't aware...:))
aannnyyy waaay... i still got into 1st row.. and as promised had the Finn and Romanian flags hanged by the fences,,,the Finn flag made a friend of mine a bit famous while she was holding it before the gig :)).also all the photographers took pics of us and the flags hanged :D
Sonata in my opinion [and not only] were awesome! Tony and Henkka were the most energetic and this was transmitted to the public also. it was nice to see/meet people from other countries like Italy and Finland that came there especially for this band.
for the time they were given, the playlist was really good, but there is always place for better. maaybe with the next album's tour they will come here too [:)) yeah right..] and i honestly say that in my opinion they sound better live than on the cds. the band-public relation was very well done and the public enjoyed every moment of the show[i read opinions from people who were also there and talked to some of them :)]
a really nice thing and kinda cool in the same time is the fact that almost simultaneous with them beginning playing the moon showed up on the sky..and...it was a fullmoon! ha! awesome!!
time flew too fast damn it and it was time for the encore...and they still didn't play "Don't say a word"... i was like :( pleaase:o3...and they did in the end. the very last song before Vodka and even if i wanted to record it..i knew it was no chance in hell i will shut up and not sing along...soo i didn't. :D.

as soon as they left the stage i made my way to the back of the square and to the back of the stage and waited there with some girls i met earlier to see if we have the chance to say hi to the guys..and we did:d i managed to get a pic with Tommy [mersi, Paul] and autographs from Tommy and Henkka. :D

that's the big idea of what happened Sonata-related.
______________________________
 Artmania:

nice festival... 1st time there and probably last time too :))
day 1: Lacrimas Profundere...ok band...never heard of them untill saw them being listed as one of the bands... veeerry skinny lead singer :)).
Helloween: in my opinion the highlight of the day! really great show, nice playlist and a good band-public relation.
Tarja: i left after Helloween :)). ... i had a terrible headache but i heard that she didn't play an encore and that she didn't even bothered to stay for an autograph or smth after the show. mneh. i saw her with her own show not a festival 2 years ago anyway.

day 2:
Republica: the hell were they doing there? i and everybody around me can't answer that question except for the obvious"they were paid". almost everybody in the crowd were motionless during the show. i, for one, clapped my hand 3 times during one song but changed my mind quickly:)). how much the public wanted them became pretty obvious 2 times one time between 2 songs when a guy in the 1st row yelled  "SONATAAA"...and the 2nd time when some other dude in the 2nd row raised up in the air a tshirt that said"if i throw a stick will you leave?"...this apart from the lack of movement from the public and from my 2 flags that were already hanged by the fences.

Sonata: already said:D

Lacuna Coil...missed their beginning as i was sitting with those girls waiting for the Sonata guys:D. after they left i went back and saw the end of it.. it was ok... not really into them but i still enjoyed it. during Lacuna Coil Paul [the guy who took the pic of Tommy and me] was holding the Finn flag and a Finn guy came and gave him a hug :D. that was nice:))).

Sibiu:
a really nice city! i am glad i had the chance to see a part of it and hopefully i will be back sometime, but in the winter. I bet the streets and buildings look awesome covered in snow <3. I also got the chance to visit the clock tower and see the city from up high. to go back it's a must!
as i said before. romania is a great country, too bad it's inhabited by people:))

this is the big idea of everything that happened. it was a really nice weekend and the best way to end my summer holiday as i have to start learning for my exams from now on till September:))

oh btw. no comments because apparently they refuse to appear. i am still waiting for some from the post in april cob related:))

bored..crap..mneah

ha. yeah. another post [that nobody will read  ahahaha:))] made out of boredom
I had an exam today. Portuguese. oh the joy. thankfully i..ahm...managed to finish it with the help of some people :D. now that's what i call team work.
one done. 8 more to go. oh the fun. and then... FINNISH learning all summer long.
in between time it's the Scorpions gig. the same day as one of the exams@ German. Muprhy does his job again.
what else?
i received the Finnish book & audio CD in the mail some days ago :D can't wait for the exams to be over so i can focus on this :).
speaking of which IS IT 2012 YET? i want for 2012 to come!! i wanna go to Finland! damn. ahaha. breaath. breaath.
if the moving there in 2 years-plan won't be fulfilled in the end [and it probably won't... you have to love my "optimism". but i'll still do my best:)] at least i won't die without being in that country for at least a couple of days on holiday. me and some Finnish city <3.
ah..but still..long time till then. in between time Finland comes to me in August. i've said it before and i'll say it again. i know. but still
Sonata Arctica! comes:D..and tarja. but eh. Sonata :D yey!
but a loooooooooong way till then
speaking of Finland [or continuing the discussion]
i am watching the eurovision show [yep. that bored]. all the 25 countries just finished singing. and man. am i disappointed.
Finland was the 1st to sing. ..'the hell? REALY? i expect[ed] sooo much more from them! [but hey! at least it wasn't Lordi again!! thank you *insert whatever god here*] but still. i think they could've done better.
but on the other hand. pretty much all the eurovision bands sucked big time. and yes. that includes my country! i just don't like the song :D. what i did like and even voted for is the Moldavian song[well yeah that part of Moldavia should also belong to Romania as well but let's not talk history tonight, shall we?] from the zdob &zdub guys. they're really good live too [yeah. did see them]. Respect, baieti!
ah yes
what's with that confused teenager from sweeden that will be popular??fisrt time i saw him he reminded me of Alexander Rybak . and i actualy like alexander's song..you should[n't] see me "sinigng" it!![and yes i know he's from norway, not sweden]
norway wasn't one of the 25 countries this year :(. maybe they would've saved the night if he would be the one in the contest again..i mean hey. germany brought that almost talentless..girl[JUST MY OPINION]..again ,,norway should've done the same. at least Alexander can sing.
hmm..still waiting for the final results...
what else?
restless teenagers in this edition. i've heard france is the favorite... WHY? :)))

ah time out. enough  about this for now.
another crap,,ahm,,let's see :-?
nothing interesting. and i do mean nothing. sleep school eat..eat... andlearning for the exams. but after failing  the only 2ones that i actually studied for [ last semester]...
ha. well..whatever...just waiting for all of it to be over with :D tralala.. and it was proven to me that the products of my imagination are not always harming for myself :D. this time my imagination was very very productive in an extremely good way!
oh. i wanted to put my phone in Finnish bcs i pretty much know its menu by heart. and guess what. it doesn't have it. i have English, Deutsch, magyar, Romanian and 3 others...but..NO FINNISH. on a Finnish phone :|. that's just so clever. ahahah :)).can i change magyar with Finnish, please?
HHH
i need a job. but in autumn. weekend job. the university of Bucharest[or at least the Faculty of foreign Languages] makes sure that you can't have a normal job. isn't that sweet <3. so. maybe at Ikea.. good food, close to home.. or. Nokia. but that would be too awesome to happen :)).

in between time eurovision is over. azerbaijan won :D. at least it wasn't sweden:D. Moldavia had more points than Finland and Romania. i am proud of them:D. and this should be a lesson for Finland. next time they should send a good band. they have plenty. really now :).
eh eurovision started to be a more political-based rather than talent based contest  a loong time ago anyway.

oh yes. almost forgot! Blogger sucks when it comes to comments. the ones that i got for my previous post are somewhere lost in the abyss...and if any will be posted here, probably they will be too.. so let me know if you comment with anything...:)

hmm this is probably the most...useless/stupid/smth post i've ever made.  and probably i sounded like someone who should grow up get a life and get lost all in one. ahahhaha.oh well. don't like? don't read.
die die.

Children of Bodom

riight... don't know how to actually start.
Lilith, this is for you, my dear!
[fangirling aheaad!]

so.April 20,2011. happiest freakin' day of my life [so far] !
ahm.. this is one of those moments when you realize that dreams really come true :). [especially after you lose all hope that they ever will ].

sooooooooo
i'm not gonna start talking about how i found out and my"riight..don't joke with me about this" reaction when a buddy told me the news...[in that instant a BIG smile appeared on my face. i was in the middle of a Deuthsch course and people were wondering what's wrong with me :)).]:D.
anyway
ahm... the tickets were cheaper than expected, but this..detail.. had a negative part, no backstage access guaranteed. i would've payed more to get that kind of access rather than trying to win it at a contest. and i'm not the only one. oh well. maybe next time. :).

we were allowed to enter the venue at about 6:30 pm. and after they checked my ticket me&my best friend literally ran to try to get to the 1st row[we weren't the only ones who did that]. but we only catched the 2nd and 3rd and because of the crowd we were separated... i wanted to go buy some stuff before the gig but i chose to wait till the end.good choice:)) :D. i also managed to make it to the 1st row. yey me!
then...the waiting began..

hmm let's see
machinae supremacy. honestly? never heard of them. i could've listen to a song or two before this night, but i thought it's better not to after remembering the opening band for gnr in september. they were ok. not much to say really.

during the break between m.s. and Ensiferum i took out the Finnish and Romanian flags, tied them together and the guys around me were nice enough to hold them also.[didn't know any of them] :).

Ensiferum.
yes... this i like! hehe :). they were good. really good. i like them now more than i did before the gig! i'm glad i had the chance to see'em live as opening act for CoB.

the longest period of waiting was the break between Ensiferum and CoB. time flew really reaaally slooow.!

then..suddently... it all began. the reason i was there! Children of Bodom !

the setlist was really nice. songs like Needled 24/7, Angels don;t kill, Downfall, Cob, Hate Me, FtTR In Your Face, Living Dead Beat, Everytime I Die, Hate Crew Deathroll etc...
of course they also sang wiwi, which, after listening to all the RRF tracks, remains my least favorite one.
anyway,I can honestly say they were Awesome! just Pure awesomeness. and i'm not saying that bcs i'm a fan or stuff like that. but really, they were great! it was worth every second of waiting! but...as a fan that is a girl..i can say that..uhm..they are cuter in reality than in the videos/photos. ahahahaa:D i sound like a 14 year old :)).

about RRF what is it to say? great album! in my opinion it's [way] better than Blooddrunk. it has something that reminds me of what some call 'the old CoB'. [and no. i am not expecting any of the future albums to be like Hatebreeder for example. don't  want that anyway]. least fave track, as i said, wiwi. why? alexi's voice-too edited. alexi has a good voice. i, for one, like it unedited. and the beginning sounds [too much] like this . but eh. in the end, who am i to judge?

i've uploaded some pics on deviart. i'm lucky my Nokia takes rather good quality pics. haha. nokia rulz!aand some were made with the camera.
what i am also really really proud of  is:

what's next? Scorpions in June and Sonata Artica, Tarja &a couple of other bands in August in Sibiu. but the main reason i'm going there is Sonata..:) and after that..saving money for my next year's bday in Espoo [or at least somewhere in Finland... :D]
..and let's see if my ultimate dream, that i've had for the past.. oh well..many years[more than the cob one].. will come true. oh well. we'll see. but my ambition regarding fulfilling it gets bigger and bigger from one day to another. :)

now let's thank people:

thanks to:
- the people that made this night possible
- the ppl that i've talked to beforehand on fb and told them that if they see me to leave me the hell alone! and listened to me :)
- vampiria for being the crazy friend that i love&for helping me with all the finland-reladed stuff that needs to be done in order for me[/us] to [hopefully] move there :). and ilinca and ileana also for helping with stuff.
- my ex friend, alina, for sending me the needled 24/7 video in spring, 4 years ago. you won't be reading this, but still, sending me that link is probably the best thing you ever did.
-most of all thanks to Children of Bodom for the show! it was really a great night! hopefully i'll get to see them again... :). NO. wait. make that: can't wait to see them again :). maybe i'll have to chose between them and Finland next year. or better. seeing them in Finland [this my friend is called masochism induced by dreams that are almost impossible to fulfill :D]

hmm..yeah.. that's about it for now.
Die die :)

what i love about people

i've decided to write in english from now on :).
you don't have to read this.
you don't have to like this.
you don't have to take this serious.
=)

sooo...what i "love" about people. there are so many things to be said.. oh my.

i loove how they usually are at least two faced. being fake is sooo c0o!. i love how they pretend to like you and behind your back they are your biggest ahm..let's say enemies. i don't really get this. why is it so hard to tell your opinion without gossiping. i [don't] feel strange for being one of those who have the [bad] habit of telling people in their faces what i think. oh my. what's wrong with me?

i love how people pretend to care just so they find out what's wrong with you, just so they could gossip some more. and this becomes related with what i've said earlier. well everything that's on this post is somehow related one with each other. anyway. i love those people that are like "sweetheart. what's wrong?" and after telling them all you get is ":(". or. if you are really lucky a"i'm sorry/poor you". how can't you love those kind of people?

i love most of the christians. i really do. they love their god and praise him but if you dare something like taking their seat in the bus,well.. you will be surprised how easy they forget about their religion. i love the fact that the biggest christians are also those who judge the most, regardless of the subject that is being judged.  for that matter i am proud to call myself an atheist. and what's wroong with those so called christians that actually don't judge people by religion?

i love those people who read that i am an atheist and their first thought was "oh. she's young. what does she know"...i'm [not] sorry to inform you that i pretty much figured out my religion a long time ago, just as i figured out what i want to do with my life.[and by long time ago, i mean years]

i love how much we can judge. how people officially claim to be open minded...but if you dare to wear a t-shirt that has the reaper printed on it or if you won't give your seat in the bus to some 5 year old kid you might be called  an emo :|.[i am not referring to the Finnish meaning of the word(mother) :))]. and don't ask me where is the connection between an emo and any of the 2, because i can't see it either.

speaking of which. i love how people look at me on the street during late autumn/early spring when i usually wear just a t-shirt while the rest have jackets and stuff. and of course i love love how people look at me during winter when i tend to wear just a t-shirt and a coat that is usually unzipped. oh well. some got used to me :). [no. this one i really love..they're like"wtf. what's wrong with her?" ahaha sooo funny. their faces=priceless]

ah yes. i love those people that judge the ones that want to move out of the country [yes yes. me included]. they say things like 'how can you say you love your country but plan on moving out as soon as you can. why would you want to study/work &live in another country? that means you don't actually love your country". well i am [not] sorry for wanting/hoping for a better life. i am [not] sorry for wanting to fulfill my biggest dream. yes. i love this country. and always will. and if my dream actually comes true i'm gonna miss romania like hell. no country could take the place that romania has in my heart. not even finland. but that doesn't mean i don't want to move to finland. at least i'll try. if i succeed, good for me. if not, well. let me try and feel like crap afterwards.

let's write one more kind of people i love. those friends that promise you can trust them and prove you otherwise. you tell them stuff that they supposedly won't tell anyone and you end up finding out some 3rd person knows about it. funny thing is when the 3rd person is someone they don't even really trust. so they lie to you and [sort of] gossip you. 2 in 1! those are some great...friends... oh well... i am proud of my trusting issue[s] that i've developed during time :).

and i want to thank all those types of people that i've mentioned for making me develop the -don't give a fuck/crap/whatever you wanna call it- attitude that i have towards well..everything i've just mentioned.

hah well that's about it. i hope you had fun reading :)) ahaha.

die die :)

p.s.  : from Ilinca, with love:
